Not necessarily SEO, it could be the particular day or time of the week. Your website traffic should be driven by more than just SEO, but it must be targeted correctly.

For us, our Fridays are usually slower than other days (at least in our Live Chat and Helpdesk Tickets). The main reason, when it comes to technical support, is that our client base is mainly eCommerce stores. These folks are usually very busy on fridays taking care of their own stuff before the weekend hits. Rarely are they trying to make a change on their site before the weekend.

Sales are also normally reduced on a Sunday - most people are not shopping for web hosting on a sunday night, however come monday morning, we'll have a few dozen sales tickets & live chat sessions before noon.

So, depending on your target market, your sales are going to be affected as such. Similarlly our 2-4am time is slow for live chat, but our 11pm-2am CDT is always busy as our markets in England are getting active at that time.

I think it's because of Google Panda. Today you are on first page, next day on second page, and so on.

Panda Update (which is now more than a year in effect - February 2011), should have NO EFFECT on a site being busy one day and slow on another.

Bouncing around on your ranking position is SEO related, but if it was Panda related, you would have already long since seen the effects and either been dropped or promoted in the search engines as a result.

So you’re saying slow days are due to buyer's activities rather than your seo campaign. Now that being the case marketing on slow days would be towards a different set of people. So if someone is in the office on Monday setting up a site but on Saturday and Sunday they looking for backups rather than hosting because the site is built already

It looks like you left off the ending of your sentence.

SEO is a 24x7 campaign. If you're looking to target specific days, you'd want to take advantage of PPC, SEM and Banners (or forum postings etc - if people are reading on the weekends).

You'll notice even here on HostingDiscussion, the weekends are generally a lot slower for postings than during the week.

People looking for backups on the weekend are definitely possible, and a hosting company should operate 24x7 in order to accommodate those needs however usually, you'll find many hosting companies run a skeleton crew for online purchase sales on a weekend, if any.

Some real world numbers;

Tuesday 14th: 70 tickets
Wednesday 15th: 102 tickets
Thursday 16th: 102 tickets
Friday 17th: 58 tickets
Saturday 18th: 27 tickets
Sunday 19th: 34 tickets

Saturday 11th: 33 tickets
Sunday 12th: 26 tickets

So, for us, and for most hosting companies, the weekends are generally slower. That doesn't have much to do with the marketing being done, it has to do with the clients or target market.

Some people confuse SEO with Marketing. They're not the same. SEO is PART of marketing, but should never be the only marketing strategy of a company.

Mostly weekends are slower than other days for hosting companies as sales are normally reduced on Sundays.Google panda has no effect on making a site faster one day ad slower another day.All it depends on the market strategies used by the hosting companies.Sometimes online purchases and sales ratio reduces on weekends because some people do not shop for web hosting on weekends.

No, sometimes it depends on the content change, weekends, holidays, etc... SEO is not always a reason.

SEO is not the reason.

But yes, everyone has slow weeks, sometimes months, then you get your sudden rushes and so on.
That is business

People are typically out enjoying the weekend after being locked up at work all week, we find sales/support tickets are lower on these days.

The weekends are pretty light for us unless someone is planning a major change at a random time during the month and it does happen. The biggest time of the year for us is when Defcon is going on due to a few of our clients.

I had a week of no sales. Someone brought a yearly package last night. I guess that would cover a few monthly clients if they had joined over the past week.

Indeed.

I find it goes like this.

Sometimes a bad day, week or even month, then suddenly a huge surge in orders, income and tickets.
But times like that make me feel happier
