HostNews has a completely new layout and brand. Let me know what you think:

Congrats on the new look, hostnews. To be honest, I've always liked your style and taste in design, so it is no wonder I like your new version just as much as I did the previous one.

Great job keeping a cool resource up and running!

I definitely love the theme, choice of colors, and overall style of the site.

I asked my brother what he felt about the site. He noted and I agree with him that, especially in the case of the home page, there's too little content up to the fold (using 1024 resolution here).

Also, IMO the "Daily web hosting headlines" bit should be a moved upward in that gif, so that the lower part of the letters of the word "headlines" are not cut.

Thanks for your insight. Now the one problem there was - is that there is a big scrolling for smaller resolutions. Would it look better if I had a smaller version of the top interface - maybe at least for other pages?

Thanks again,
Matt

I like the new layout, however, I noticed two things:

1. The "About" link in the upper left hand corner is hard to notice.
2. http://www.hostnews.com/resources.htm has a title of "New Page 1".

Good luck with the new design.

I can attest to that. I didn't notice it at all.

I don't know, but I do feel that for me it would be better.

Come to think of it, if you mainly want people to click on the five options as opposed to browse the home page, you can stick to what you have now.

My strong point is in broad concepts, not so much the nitty gritty details.

Oy. Okay so I fixed the page in terms of that annoying little "new page" text.

The site will be getting some new features soon so I'm excited!

Thats cool and all, but I think it may get out of hand and bring down the value of the site.
