You definately can. The thing is though, typically phpBB, and the others, come with installation instructions.

Additionally, if I'm not mistaken, phpBB comes with cPanel, and is a one click process to install from there.

phpBB was the default message board software bundled with CPanel the last time I checked, and yes, you just filled out the folder for the board, and clicked install. It created the dbs, files, etc

Additionally, phpBB is a more popular application, and should come with instruction on installing it manually.

Not much to add here.

Yes phpBB is very easy to install, like ANNMark said it is basically a one click install & everything else is virtually created for you.

I find phpBB a very EASY forum software to install, and I don't know any php at all!

phpbb does come with standard cPanel's Addon Scripts AS LONG as your provider has enabled it in the 'Addon Scripts' in their WebHostManager.

However if the Hosting Provider has Fantastico Deluxe then thus you can install it from their as long as the provider has enabled it in the Fantastico Admin.

phpBB is very easy to install, very popular but too buggy for heavy activity.

I have set up a phpBB with cPanel and it was really simple - no php or mySQL knowledge is needed to set it up. You just click install and it steps you though the process. However, if you want to add some modification to your phpBB, a little knowledge of php will come in handy.
