Hmmm...I don't know really, but the gradient in the header's background, and the blue gradient in the footer's background, just aren't getting it for me.
Possibly move the highlight color of those gradients, closer to the top of the fill, on both.

I like the top, the header and the links, but teh Forum itself irritates me a little bit. Maybe if you tried taking away the metal-looking grey stuff under every sub-forum, it might be a little less monotonous.
