Microsoft launches new data center to support Windows Azure

Microsoft has announced the launch of a new 50,000-square-foot data center located in Redmond, Washington. It will support Windows Azure which is the new cloud-computing platform of the company. The DC went online in early July but it was not powered at full capacity. The new data center will hold 35,000 to 50,000 servers and will serve to reduce company’s overall costs.
