IBM opens a cloud laboratory, plans to launch new cloud computing DC

A new cloud lab has been opened by IBM in Hong Kong, the first cloud laboratory in the country. The company has also announced a new data center to be built in Auckland, New Zealand, which is expected to open next year to support a cloud computing infrastructure.

OnlineTech closes Ann Arbor data center

Managed data center operator Online Tech is shutting down its oldest, smallest, and least efficient data center – the Ann Arbor data center. One of the reasons is that the DC no longer meets the company’s high-end infrastructure standards. All current clients will be moved to a more environmentally friendly data center.

ICANN terminates three domain registrars

In a move to keep internet free of companies who neglect responsibilities, the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers has cut off Hosting365, OOO, and R.B. Data Net LTD for failing to pay their accreditation fees. Hosting365 owes ICANN $28,089.20, OOO owes $7,914.56 while R.B. Data Net has to cover $34,952.84 in outstanding debt.

Horizon Data Center lands $7.5 million in funding

$7.5 million in institutional funding has been secured by Horizon Data Center Solutions to finance the addition of new facilities and expand its managed IT services which includes its platform for private cloud computing.
