InetServices launches second data center in Massachusetts

A second data center has been opened by web hosting provider InetServices in Massachusetts. This expands the company’s total capacity to 6,000 servers. The facility offers more bandwidth connectivity and it is also the first part of company’s virtualization strategy. InetServices is planning to open its third data center by Q3 2010.

iWeb makes staff position changes

A Canadian-based web hosting company iWeb has made some changes to their staff positions. A new position of Chief Technology Officer was introduced and given to former VP of IT and infrastructure Cyrille Mertes. The new position allows for greater cohesion between the company’s development, technology and infrastructure divisions.

Rackspace Survey: IT managers hate server-shopping

Apparently, every second IT manager wishes to never have to buy another server. According to a new Rackspace Hosting survey of 441 IT managers, 61% of them said that one of their biggest challenges is “time to drive innovation”, followed by “hassle of managing servers”, mentioned by 58% of responders.
