Brainpulse Technologies has launched an ad-free web hosting services that is only available to college students and aspiring developers. It is a simple offer but enough to create a personal or a small business website. CPanel, 25MB of space, Javascript and PHP are part of the free package.

Yahoo! reports on date of Geocities shut down

Yahoo! announced it will shut down its free hosting service Geocities on October 29. The company has first revealed the intention to close the service a few months ago but just announced recently the exact date of when the action would take place. The service declined in popularity due to emergence of social media sites.

LCN.com offers free hosting to 190,000 UK based charities

Four out of 10 charities say they have been hit by the economic downturn, which forces them to cut costs and make savings wherever possible, including their Internet-based operations.
