That can be true about reviews, although non-biased reviews could be helpful to narrow down choices and bring you closer to a better one by seeing people experience and what they say about their service and help you form your own judgment, it is good in the sense that it reduces corporate monopoly.

Most websites now check the IP's, domain names, server Ip's, before you post a review about a company. But can't rely on reviews completely. Factors like location, staff, cost of servers and services, free support, security, backups location, ddos protection and many more need to be considered.
