Ya I hate that. I down graded my dish package and they kept trying to convince me to keep their higher package. They even called me a few times after that to try and get me to change my mind. I was like I only use the blockbuster at home service and watched the Science channel. I don't need any thing else.

I have had the issue you mentioned with banks as well. Thank goodness I have not had that issue with any hosting company I have had.

Not many decent hosts would do this.

If we get a client downgrade, then they do this for a reason. Yes we will contact the client as ask why they have downgraded.

Usually they downgrade for 2 reasons

1) funds are limited, and they can no longer afford the higher plan
2) they dont need/use all the resources of the higher plan.

most times we can work with the client on point 1, so they keep the plan resources they have at a reduced rate either on a temp basis or perm basis

I like hosts that do that. I mean you go to downgrade and if you tell them it is a money issue and they let you have the higher package at the lower price. That happened with one of my vps providers.

This would be an absolute disaster. I do agree with the concept of personal interaction though, maybe we can encourage that without shutting down all the computers?

we could get the texting services shut down and then see the reaction of all teenagers when they realise they have to move their mouths and talk to each other.

An entire day?! I could have done that earlier on, but not anymore. I have too much going on via the Internet to skip even a single day. Having said that, I did miss one day last week to attend an event in Nebraska.

just me as someone needs to keep an eye on my hosting clients.

when i say camping, its a small log cabin, but no tv/radio etc. their is about 6 cabins in the area, so like a little community, its a nice refreshing break from the outside world to recharge the batteries

They would absolutely freak out, haha. I have heard of families texting each other within the same house. Definitely in favor of parents being in control over their kids usage!

It's funny how social media is in many ways anti-social. At the risk of sounding old, I will admit that I never had a phone or computer until after I graduated high school, and when I was a kid I went outside and played with my friends.

i passed a group of teenagers the other day and they seems to be just texting each other, and they all looked like expensive smartphones, most likely contract in their parents name.

And it was so great meeting with you and chatting for a while about all sorts of stuff. Too bad the event itself wasn't as successful as last year, but that's how events go sometimes

None the less, you got an escape from the daily grind, a few coffee's, a glimps into my life (and what I have to put up with.. [ahem.. kim]), and then a wonderful parting gift - a touch of a cold

--- on a side note, I did get things checked out, and my deal was sinus stuff, so it could have been the drive that wore down your system
