Could someone explain to me why this is a viable option for web-hosts? Why trade hosting accounts just for domain names? How much do they domains have to cost?

I do not care how much the domain names cost, my credit card will not be activated for 4 more weeks and I really need to open my web hosting company soon. If you would simply purchase the domains or register them to me so I can use to host web hosting accounts under and use as the domain for my company web site you will receive the web hosting account.

You're willing to offer this to somebody forever? Not a good idea. It would be much more beneficial for you in the long run to pay in 4 weeks or use a PayPal account or some other alternative payment system.

Nicko, a domain is not worth all of that.

Remember that patience is a virtue. If you have truly thought of a unique name, and brand, then you have nothing to worry about. If not, then of course you must worry about losing your domain, but you also have other problems, you'll deal with later (such as lack of branding).

I know, I went a bit more into the business side of things than you were referring to, but in any case, a domain name is not worth all of that trouble, to offer someone a lifetime of hosting.
