Hi,
First off I apologize if this is in the wrong section of the forum, I'm not sure where else to put it.
I am looking for a partner(or 2) to split a dedicated server with me. I am in the position where I am looking to expand but am not yet making enough profit from my reseller account to cover the full costs of a dedicated server.
The server specs would be the following which would be split evenly between 2-3 people.
Hardware:
Hewlett Packard
Quad-Core Intel Xeon L5410
4GB Fully Buffered ECC RAM
4x500 GB SATA2 RAID10 Hard Drives
Software:
cPanel/WHM
Linux + CentOS
Litespeed Web Server
Other Information:
The server will be fully managed by a reputable outsourced company such as CliffSupport or Serverwizards. (I'll let you also provide input to help weigh the final decision)
The server will be colocated, I haven't yet decided where but I am leaning towards either Colo4Dallas.com or WebNX.com (preferably dallas as it is a centralized fault tolerant location and they have from what I believe a better datacenter then WebNX.)
The resources will be divided fairly between the parties. If there are 2 of us sharing the server we will each be given a dedicated 500 GB Hard Drive space. If there are 3 of us we will each be given 325GB Hard Drive space.
The RAM will be shared and any sites found causing excessive CPU load and bogging down the server for others will be suspended immediately. We can decide and agree on a number that we agree is 'excessive'.
The amount of bandwidth will also be split evenly, however I cannot comment on the amount at this time until I have spoken to the colocation companies sales team. I'm estimating the server will receive 1000-1500GB bandwidth monthly, as mentioned it will be split evenly.
The server is meant to be for a web hosting server, that is what you must use it for. You will be able to offer shared and reseller web hosting on superior hardware, a superior network, and superior management.
You provide support for your customers for level 1 & 2. All level 3 issues you will forward to the server management company. Any requested changes on the server must be verified and agree upon by all parties sharing the server costs.
Costs/Pricing Information:
Estimated Total Server Costs: $360
2 People Sharing - Your Cost: $187/monthly
3 People Sharing - Your Cost: $125/monthly
This includes the costs for the following:
* Hardware lease from HP
* Colocation
* Cpanel/WHM License
* 2 Core License for Litespeed Webserver
* Initial Setup/Server Management/Monitoring
There may be an initial $50 setup fee from the colocation company(I will try to convince sales to waive it). If so it will also be split evenly.
First and last months server rent is required upfront, this isn't negotiable. If you decide to leave you must give 30 days notice, after notice is received the rent you paid upfront will be put towards your last months bill. I expect to be paid 5 days before the 1st of the month so I can pay the bills ontime and in full.
I can accept payments through all major credit cards as well as paypal.
If interested please send me a PM.
