You can sell the reseller hosting via Dedicated or VPS. Both of them have the root access.
Colocation is put your own server on the data center. You just pay the bandwidth and powder fees.

Not standard but hosting almost upgrades in this order
Free -> Shared Hosting
Shared -> Reseller
Reseller -> VPS
VPS -. Dedicated Server

From your post you seem not to be very technical so once you upgrade from Reseller whatever else you chose MUST be fully managed for am not sure you will be able to manage it on your own.
