I think a better first upgrade, rather than shared to VPS, is moving to a semi-dedicated server, which is essentially a shared server with a limited number of accounts on it.

as with shared server you dont own a hardware , while upgrading also you dont need to think about the hardware. VPS is the better option for you for moving from shared hosting.

Hi,

If your website is new and low traffic then you do not need to go with VPS in this situation shared web hosting is better option meanwhile for high traffic and high business website you should really go with VPS.
