Advice on how to add news feed to homepage

Hey all, I'm trying to figure out how to adjust my site's layout to put a few of the blog news bits on the main page. This is my first website and I'm not really good with layouts so I'm having a horrible time making it look good and not be overwhelming. Basically I want to do something like use the RSS feed to put the last 3 blog items on the main page but not have it make the whole front page look horrible. The page is http://www.bestofthewebhosts.com and the blog is http://www.bestofthewebhosts.com/blog - I'm guessing some of you guys hate sites like mine but if it helps I'm actually trying to do a legit version of a review/news site. Things so far are going pretty good but as I said I'm horrible at layout so if you have some suggestions please let me know. Every time I try something it just looks horrible. :uhh:

You might want to use a widget or plug-in instead of RSS. I know there is a plug-in that can be used to show most recent blog post titles but I can't think of what it is called right now. Not positive that it can be used on the main site or only on the top page of the blog, either. But it's an alternative to look into that might fit better with your layout.

Thanks for the tips. I'm looking at the feedinformer thing. It seems pretty easy to use. I'm going to search a bit more for a widget or plugin too. I'm sure there's something that will feel just right. Now to break out the google again...

Since you're using WordPress, you might want to check in the WordPress support forums. They've got a fairly active support community, and you may find some other layout ideas in there.

Check the widget placed on the right sidebar in this blog http://artse.com/, you can easily grab it and customize, this is one of my colleague blog. I hope this help.
