anyone heard of groove?

Has anyone heard of Groove Systems for hosting? My buddy recommended them but I've been burned before.

I have never heard of them before personally. If your friend recommends them, why do you second guess them? Also, did you mean you were burned by them or by some other company?

I've been burned in the past by another company. Just wanted to see if anyone else had heard of them.

The company has been around for a while, but they seem to be new to the hosting side of things. It looks like the decision to offer hosting services was only made quite recently.

Company only offers a web form to contact them? I would like to see an actual address and phone number or even e-mail addresses.

I have a very hard time taking a host seriously when they offer lifetime hosting for a flat rate.

You bring up a valid point. A couple points that are somewhat comforting are that they've been around since 2001 and at http://www.groovesystems.com/hosting/hosting4life.html in the FAQ they explain why they are offering the promotion (to raise capital); however there is no mention of offering a free 30 day trial. I will email them and ask them. A 30 day snapshot of a host should give me a pretty good picture of what to expect, plus I have a buddy that swears by them.

It says the lifetime hosting offer is available for as long as they exist. Now, if they go out of business next month, you've just wasted a decent amount of money. There are so many other hosts in the industry that I'm sure you won't have trouble finding one that offers a money back guarantee with the features you need.

They quickly replied and said that I can definitely try them out for 30 days free. I've decided to hold off on the hosting4life promotion until I've tried them out. They do have other plans that would suits my needs http://www.groovesystems.com/hosting/shared_details.html. I've learned the hard way, you get what you pay for...I'll keep you posted. :wave:

I dont think "lifetime hosting" for a flat rate is a profitable offer for a web hosting company. I think it makes a web host untrustable. What do you think?
