Debate Time! :smash:

Has anyone had a chance to take a look at the new Blackberry Bold? Looks quite good however like all new devices very pricey. Seems like a bigger version of Apple's iPhone with a few more features.

Crackberry have uploaded a Comparison Chart. What do you think?

A buddy of mine is testing some out now and plans to meet up for lunch later this week so we can get all geeky on it. I am not sure how much I am liking the new ones, and if its anything like the iPhone I am at a lose, don't like em. :disagree:

Marks, the comparison chart clearly puts Blackberry ahead, which isn't strange by any means. Blackberry has been a business tool for a long time while iPhone is just starting to make their gadget more equiped with tools that can be appealing to the business crowd (with their iPhone 2.0 release).

iPhone has better reach to young professionals and self-employed entrepreneurs, however, I just don't see major corporations switching their employees from Blackberry to iPhone anytime soon.

I agree, I've never thought iphone would win over the Blackberry crowd. Blackberry is the leader of the pack for a reason. I did get to play with one the other night when we stopped in to have one of our phones serviced. Too much for my meager needs, but nice if you've got the need.

In my opinion, if your texting or typing a lot a blackberry might suit you better. If your using the features of the other stuff such as GPS or watching videos then the iPhone might suit you better. In my opinion, Blackberrys seem more appealing to the business people and the iPhone seem more appealing to those who seek entertainment.

Hi first time poster, long time reader...

First time poster, long time reader...

Granted the comparison sheet was posted at "crackberry.com" so a bias is inevitable... that being said, the blackberry Bold is meant to be the holy grail of Blackberries. Short of a weaker camera than the upcoming Javelin (2G replacement for the Curve), it has all the Blackberry features available (wifi, camera, gps, 3g, expandable memory etc.).

Apple's slowly working towards the business market starting from the consumer market.

RIM is slowing working towards the consumer market starting from the business market.

Bottom line is: If your primary use is for business --> Go the Bold route.

If your primary use is for multimedia, then go for the iphone 3G.
