My experience with them was good...

i registered a domain name and took a mail hosting package with them.

however i have heard/seen and experienced a few horror stories with them

people cancelling servers and still being billed. not being able to get through to the cancellation department to cancel etc etc

I have a domain only account with them, but not used it in many years as even after you transfer a domain from them, they will still keep the domain listed in the account with them and even try and get you to renew the domain when its due even though the domain is not with them

Only about 13 years

Fasthosts are owned by United Internet, the German company who also own 1&1. Google shows a number of negative reviews, mainly regarding the admin side - being locked into contracts, domain renewals etc.
