Equinix and Carpathia Hosting Announce Global Alliance

Strategic Alliance Delivers Data Protection and Privacy Through a Combination of Data Centers and Complex, Compliant Hosting Services

Redwood City, Calif. and Dulles, Va. – February 24, 2011 - Equinix (Nasdaq: EQIX), a global data center services provider, and Carpathia Hosting, a provider of complex, compliant managed hosting services for government agencies and enterprises, today announced that they will jointly sell and market to federal agencies, and financial and healthcare enterprises with high security and data protection needs. The services offered by Equinix and Carpathia will enable organizations to deploy colocation, managed services and cloud solutions in a secure, compliant environment that meets stringent requirements and prevents the risk of data loss or privacy breaches.


This joint solution will deliver best-of-breed services from both organizations. Equinix is a provider of global colocation services and, through Platform Equinix customers will have the ability to leverage dynamic ecosystems and networks to efficiently expand their business. Carpathia will provide scalable and secure enterprise-grade complex, compliant hosting solutions that can be provisioned and tailored to meet unique requirements, such as FISMA, DIACAP, HIPAA and PCI. The combined solution will enable data protection, security, compliance and data center services through integrated sales and delivery to customers.


Equinix and Carpathia have a seven-year track record of successfully meeting compliant hosting and colocation requirements for nearly 200 shared customers. Joint customers include Exostar, a provider of collaboration and business process integration tools for the aerospace and defense industries, which chose Carpathia and Equinix to deliver a solution that allowed it to exceed the most stringent standards for security, privacy and compliance for its industry. Other joint customers include civilian agencies such as the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the Department of Health & Human Services, as well as the U.S. Department of Defense including the Marines and the U.S. Army.


Carpathia will offer the following services on Platform Equinix:
