Is there a way to subscribe to different forums and get updates in the one place

Hey,
Not sure if this is possible but worth asking

I view a lot of sites and forums daily, normally for work but I wanted to know if there is anyway I can get updates on all these sites in the one place?

For example is there a way to subscribe to a post and get updates to a post on that forum and another on the one page?

Anyway using XML for example?

I have no idea about both RSS and XML so not sure what they can do.

Just read the post about firefox 1.5 and I was wondering what the live bookmarks were.

Good question John but I do not know the answer. If Will catches this thread he might be able to come up with some suggestions to help get you going on this. I am sure it is possible... just dont know how yet
