So what does everyone think of oneandone (united internet) opening a branch in the states?

Personally I would be intrested to see how the big boys (like rackshack, hostway.etc) react to oneandone's undercutting game - especially with the dedicated servers.

Also does anyone know if oneandone have built a datacentre out in the states or they are still using their existing gear in Germany?

Same questions over here. Are they building a new datacenter in States or using the one they have in Europe?

Do we know for sure they will offer dedicated hosting?

Their free hosting for 3 years does seem intriguing, but many problems would arrive with this offer as thousands of free-stuff-loving-folks must be signing up daily. There gotta be a big part of those who would abuse resources, so they really need to take control over what is being used right now.

I don't think companies like Hostway or Rackshack will or should react. They have their own strategy and sustainable competitive advantage, so there is nothing to worry about.
