Not bad at all, fast, simple navigation, to-the-point.

I would play with colors, though, they don't match as they are now. Also try changing the background pic to a 'writing' theme picture.

I would increase your table width from 600px to 700 or 750px. It looks very small at 1280x1024.
The right side looks incomplete. Maybe put a border on the right edge of your header and fill the bottom part of the menu bar.

When thin when building a website simple and to the point is great design for websites. You yourself have down that. Loads very fast, user friendly also.
