Features you expect from a reseller account?

What minimum features do you expect to have at a reseller hosting account?

What features you consider are premium and are willing to pay more for?

I am not talking about disk space, bandwidth, email accounts and all the features available in a standard cPanel install. I am talking about features such as free templates, Fantastico installer, Private NS...

When you think of the reseller hosting, you atleast get the following,

Unlimited Subdomains and domains,
Unlimited MySQL Databases,
Unlimited Email Forwarders,
FREE CGI scripts,
FREE Search engine submission,
Free Chatroom,
Free web based admin panel,
Free Perl Module Installs,
Free ENOM Domain Reseller Account

Diskspace will be dependent on your Package + you should see the uptime and the support i.e 24x7x365.

For a valued account the minimum extra features are:

private nameservers
Fantastico (if cPanel)
a great free billing system (such as WHMCS, clientexec, etc..)

FrontPage Extensions? Are people really still using this?

We abandoned Extensions when Microsoft abandoned FrontPage and our users haven't had any issues. We do have WebDav enabled for connections with Expressions or the later versions of the old FrontPage, but since the software is no longer supported having software on the server can be a potential security risk.

Certanly not PCI Compliant running software that is not supported!

Are you really seeing a demand for FrontPage Extensions?

The private NS is definitely a must as well as customer support for the reseller's customers. Also, I agree that FrontPage Extensions are pretty much useless nowadays as FrontPage is not only outdated but inefficient to begin with.

Free chat rooms means Yahoo Messenger or any other free online chatting software. Generally web hosts do not allow to install chat rooms in your domain.

You can say 99.9% uptime till your blue in the face but fact of the matter is if they don't stand behind the uptime its nothing. Something such as an SLA (Service Level Agreement) would be ideal.
