I need to know, You know when you logon to a website, say Google or major sites , you see the little icon of the site in the explore bar in front of the http;// how do you do that , can anyone maybe help me how to do that , sorry for asking the Q , but i really like to know how to do that for my website as well.

Hey,

Well you first off need to create the facicon and save it in the root of your site then in your page put the following:-

<link rel="Shortcut Icon" href="favicon.ico" />

Within the Head Tags for it to work

Yep.. Basically save a 16x16px gif as "favicon.ico" add ^ to your head and you're good to go. Make sure to clear your cache in Firefox the first time after and you'll see it pop up :)
 
you can always download a program to change a .jpg to .ico
Do a google search like .ico changer or something like that.
that help me out a lot.

There's a really cool plugin for PhotoShop that let's you do pretty much everything with icons, but if all you need is a favicon there's no reason to go that far. Like I said, just rename a 16x16 gif to .ico
 
ok , i used iconcraft to creat my icon, 16x16
the icon name is apd.ico


This is what i got in my idex page is this correct

Everyone here is empowered to voice their opinions. I don't understand the concern over the user name.

HAHA, just wait and see until I exercise my powers :D I really don't know why my name provokes some. I know the obvious reasons because it's similar to Admin but I don't see why could someone be provoked by it?
