If you own a chat forum with a classified section, can members of the forum hold you liable if they get ripped off? Or is it a "Buyer Beware" type scenario?

It would be wise to have a "hold harmless" clause in the sites Terms of Service specifying that you do not vet advertisers and due diligence is their own lookout.

Yes, that's the best way to let members know that it would be their own responsibility.

I would always include a sticky about the rules and clearly state in there that we weren't responsible/buyer beware.
