Shopping for New Dedicated Server

Hi All,

I have to tell you we just changed to a new dedicated server 3 weeks ago and it has been nothing but a nightmare. Let me start by saying we were expecting some type of managed server and the support just blows us off and tells us they do not support dedicated servers.. Flop.

Anyways, we are seriously thinking about making a move to a new host in the next 4 weeks.

Ideally this is what we need:
- Minimum 1000Gb Bandwidth
- 80Gb HD
- One of the major admin panels.
- And then all the other options php / mySql / etc.

I have looked in this section and not come across any yet... I will keep looking, but if anyone wants to send me pricing and specs, great.

Thanks,
Logan

Hmm,

That is a good question. I will not make the final decision on budget, but I do have a big part of suggestions and configs.

Right now we are on an unmanage server (from my understanding), but that needs to change to something with better support.

And I think it is somewhere in the area of $100/month.

In this case. It is going to be used for 1 site.

The owners of the site, seem to think dedicated is the way to go, becuase at their peak, they do close to 900mb in bacndwidth a month.

So why do you need 1000 gb? If they arent even hitting one gig? Unless you meant to say 900gb.. Which is ALOT.

hehe, no biggy, but what site is this? Sorry, but I am very interested, since it is useing 900gb :p.

Unless it is a porno site.... Then that would make sense, lol.

It is a site that is geared towards PS2/Xbox/etc. games.

When they get busy they allow members to post videos of games played and stuff, so it can eat some serious bandwidth.

Logan,

Whats your definition of 'managed' ?

Lots of peoples definitions and expectations vary.

We offer a managed service but its way way over your budget of $100 !

The vast majority of our customers come to us from cheaper hosts and services that have let them down.

Let me put it this way....

I am not sure what the site will allowing in forms of URL posting.. but this is what we have:

http://www.ipower.com/dedicated_ipro02.html

We are paying the monthly fees, so it is not $69/month. Now, I do not own the site, I just admin so they final decision is not mine.

If anyone wants to PM me with info, links or pricing please do. We are looking to make the move within the 30 days, but my target date is May 10th.

thanks
