Do you use a smartphone for your business? If you don't your missing out.
Smartphones are a great tool for us web hosting guys. You can have faster responce time for your tickets, be on live chat more, basicly run your own company from your phone. One of best tools that you need. Go to craiglist to find one for you. Unlock iphones are around 200-300.

This is my phone. The only thing you can hope to run is its battery for a few hours.

That is not to say that I receive more and more email replies from friends, colleagues and clients sent from Blackberries and iPhones.

Multiple cell phones :) I actually have 3 on my belt ;)

I use the Samsung 780i I think it is. Had it around 2 years now, but due to the processing it requires, battery life is only about 11-14 hours, and good luck if you decide to talk at all!

I keep a Virgin phone ($20/month) that acts strictly as a text pager for server notifications as it was one of the loudest phones I could find. Pagers just aren't made any more :(

I then have another Verizon phone that I use for my regular contact with employees and business contacts etc.

I've tried many phones over the years from blackberry to phones operating the windows system. I prefer the Windows systems as I can sync to my outlook, excel and word files etc.

I'll likely pick up one of those new thin computers with the Verizon hookup - $200 or so? Nice and light. Much better than the notebook I carry EVERYWHERE I go currently ;)

No smartphones here - this is one area where I'm living in the dark ages. The only thing I use my cell phone for is to talk to my wife - no texting, no email, no pictures. I don't even have the address book set up. Somebody kick me. LOL.

I still have a Samsung 780i, I think it is ummm upstairs in a closest somewhere in my house?

Been through most of the blackberries and my spouse went to sellout aka iPhone land (I say this as he has always been against anything mac/apple/ianything needed), I still am....

He has a mobile holder for his in the car, and twice now he has forgotten to unplug it and almost kill the car battery (TWICE now).

Me? Blackberry all the way. :D

I hear the newer Blackberries are nice. I had the OLD one, then the color one, but never went for the next level up.

What kind of battery life did you get on your Samsung? I'm with you on the iPhone - I just never brought myself to go that route!

+1 here. Not a big fan of Apple products. Plus, I just don't drop everything on command and open my wallet just because Steve Jobs told me to. You head that road once and you'll find yourself in Apple's controlling hands forever.

I will get the Palm Pre though because I am a Palm slut. :D

EDIT: Where are my manners...

Originally had a newton not really a smart phone but the first real PDA's of the day (by apple) and moved on with a number of bricks since and HP PDA's amoung others. Being a particular Samsung fan although trying my hand with a number of blackberrys on contract from orange more recently, although the physical keyboard and myself had a disagreement but a good phone none the less.

I was sold at the time by the concept of the iPhone as the blackberry was on its last legs and the ipod nano I owned had blown a chip behind the screen causing screen burn, so three devices in one? Bargain :D

My only reservation is that the screen needs the occasional clean if you’re in the building trade or work in such conditions and that the software was originally behind other phones for certain function but that is no longer the case with 2.0 and 3.0 as well as the SDK :)

Wow I am surprise that some people don't use a smartphone. I love my G1(android) phone I trade my apple laptop that I got for $220 and I think the G1 is worth $300+
I was a very happy camper when I got it :p

ATM there is no need for SmartPhone since I'm tied to this chair 10 - 12 hours a day, eventually I will switch to one, my problem is that I have fat fingers and have not been able to find one that fits me :(

give the iphone a try in store, I myself am part of a building firm, but more importantly my father has what the foreman refers to as "gorilla grips" even though he's getting on a bit now his hands are considerably larger than most and he had no issues using it recently.
Might be worth a try compared to the small keyboards on the palm and blackberry

I have a Samsung Blackjack (the original) and I love it. I am legally blind and the screen + key pad is great. I am looking forward to an iPhone though. It has the ability to increase the screen and text. I might just go buy one.

legally blind? but you can still see right? well give it another 5-10 years and they will have technology to make you see. Thats sad to hear :( :(

Yes, I am legally blind. I can see and I can drive a car. The problem msot have who are legally blind or blind is, they are unwilling to to defy societies thoughts. Society sees individuals with disabilities as second rate. I am just as capable of driving well as anyone else on the road, is it harder for me? Sure is. Have I accepted aids to make it happen sure did.

My success while fighting a system that is stacked and a disability that can leave you broken proves that no matter who you are, what you have goning against you, you can still overcome it. People have this time believing that if they are a minority or disabled that they cannot do it. The only reason why they don't is because in their head they have it that they can't.

I use an HTC S621 running WinMo 6.1 to keep in touch with clients, access email on the go, etc.

I used a Blackberry 7250 for years and it is easily the best smartphone I've ever used - unfortunately WinMo is necessary to me for syncing so Blackberry is out for the moment.
