Split free diskspace on Dedicated box into VPS account containers?

I have a spare dedi server with linux and cpanel

There is too much space on it to wholly devote it to cpanel accounts. Is there a way of splitting the server and using half the diskspace to offer 4/5 vps accounts? Or should I keep VPS and cpanel account on different machines? Just trying to make the most of the space for a limited time!

What software do I need to do this? Is it possible?

i.e. 500gb raid drives. 250gb for cpanel accounts then make 250gb availabel for say 5 x 50gb VPS accounts?

You could create 6 VPS accounts with one being the 250 GB for the shared accounts I think you're talking about.

Webfreak has the right idea on this. You'd want to create 6 containers and put your own site into one of those containers and give it the extra resources you desire.

How much is the software required to do this? Should I be speaking to my datacenter?
