Upgrading

There is an option to automatically upgrade the software and cpanel when new versions are released. Is this usually a good idea, or should one stick to manual upgrades?

we leave all of our servers to manual updates
nothing like have all server go a muck from a busted cpanel update

it does not happen very often but it does happen

I generally prefer to control the timing of any updates just in case they do mess things up, which happens more frequently than it should.

Personally, manual upgrade with the auto upgrade prompt will be better. Because there could be some trouble coming to you after automatic upgrade .

I've always stayed at Stable and use auto updates, so those bugs that creep into every release are fixed by the time they roll out stable

If you turn on auto updates, your server will act strange, lot of things will be broken etc.... so therefore you should only prefer manual cPanel upgrade to avoid further complex issues.

If you want to turn on Auto Updates, you will have to log in to your cPanel >> select WHM Web host manager >> Select Server Configuration >> Update Config

Probably a better idea to stick with manual upgrades. :D
