Just heard not so long ago that a data center has been on fire, some of the websites that were hosted by that data center has bee down until now.

I wonder, for the days that those websites are down, will it be possible that their rankings will drop together with the traffic?:disagree:

I believe you are talking about the fire at The Planet datacenter.

If your site is down, the side effects such as decreased traffic is common. However, I have never heard of a website losing ranking (if you are talking about PageRank) if you are down for a couple/few days even. That might change, however, if you are down for a long period of time.

It is a definite possibilty that the search engines will take them off the SERPs, but it should all be corrected once they get back online.

A terribly unfortunate situation. Lose-lose-lose for everyone involved. The Planet's competitors will be the only winners out of all this.
