Dude, are you looking for single Domains only? Coz frankly speaking even i started of buying 1 Domain every now and then because i'd do it for family members or for my business...later i realised that it was cheaper becoming a Domain Reseller...

I'd say NameCheap and Enom before GoDaddy. I was just on GoDaddy's site last week and found it too cluttered. A word of caution with GoDaddy - you cannot just let your domain expire and NOT expect to be billed for renewal. It has to be canceled per their TOS.

Obviously its only free whn you buy each hosting package from them... It is feasible while buying your first Domain and hosting it, not multiple
