how do people host domains on a server? is it to do with DNS ? or sometihng?

Apparently, you own a hosting company? Why would you ask that? And in case you really don't know, yes it is with DNS. If you would like to know more, I and I'm sure others would be happy to help.

Maybe he doesn't own a company. In that case I would like to know who he advertises on the forum for.
