Validating
Add a Doctype I recommend XHTML 1.0 Strict
2. CSS - Place your CSS Code into its own file.
3. Don't use fixed widths with a basic template.
4. Probably best to use a clearer font for your navigation.

If you're going for a really simple design, you have done great! I personally would add more content and graphics to dress it up a bit.
