I read on the news earlier HERE, that Google has blacklisted BMW's German website...

"BMW's German website, which is heavily reliant on javascript code unsearchable by Google, used text-heavy pages liberally sprinkled with key words to attract the attention of Google's indexing system. However, once a user clicked on the link displayed in Google's results window, they were redirected to a regular BMW Germany page, which contained far fewer of the key words"

I say... OOPS to BMW. Someone will be in trouble I bet

Yeah I woke up this morning and turned on CNN and she was saying they put them ranked 0 so they won't come up or something.

I wonder if there is a way for them to build things back up or have they been blacklisted forever? I am not sure if it's just a reset back to zero and they have to build back up from scratch.

Would be interesting to find out.

I'm sure they will be able to get indexed again but they will probably start fro mscratch, just like a new domain.

I'm sure once they can get indexed again they will shoot up though, they have lots of links and content so I don't think it will be a problem, maybe less keywords next time though

I did a search on BMW Germany on Google and see they are still the top of the list. I wonder if the ban has been lifted, or if it just doesnt effect typing in BMW Germany or something :s Not sure how it all works there.

If you type BMW on Google (DE) or BMW Germany on Google (UK), then the German BMW (www.bmw.de) comes up. I don't think it's so much that Google blacklisted BMW, rather that their search index was reset meaning they would have to build themselves up again -- which doesn't take that long, especially if you're as big as BMW.

Yep... I bet it set them back a bit but not that much. I wonder if they had any losses over it.

I doubt it. Everyone knows BMW, and they don't need their website to appear as #1 on Google to increase sales. You'll either buy one or you won't, and if you're a company interested in using them as your company cars, then you'll contact BMW directly.
