Charging extra to cover Paypal fees etc.

Because of the fees associated with using Paypal or most other payment options, some companies have taken to charging a little bit extra to cover the expenses caused by Paypal. Do you charge extra for payments thru Paypal, or do you charge the same price regardless of payment method?

    Checks and money orders

You really do not hear of many companies that accept checks and money orders these days, but I think there still are a few of course. Do you personally accept checks or money orders, and if so why or why not?

    Do you accept Credit Cards?

Because there tends to be a lot of fees involved, some businesses both on and offline don't allow customers to pay with a Credit Card. Generally this may scare away a fair amount of customers, but some feel that they have no choice but to not accept it. How about you?

    Amazon Payments

For a while now, Amazon has had a payment system known as "Amazon Payments" which is supposed to be along the same lines as other payment systems such as Paypal and Google checkout. Has anyone here had any experience with it, and what is your opinion about it?

    Quick loading on dialup

As somebody as has had to suffer on a dialup connection for many years, I can completely understand the frustration of dialup users when the webpages they are visiting are incredibly slow. Sometimes this is due to a graphics intensive website, and other times it is due to web hosting and/or...

Free hosts that have closed this year

As you may or may not have heard already, a number of very long established free webhosts have already closed their doors this year, and I believe Geocities has been one of them if I am not mistaken. Even free webhosts seem to be getting effected by this bad economy, and it doesn't seem to be...

Keeping prices low, while still making some money

With the current economic climate, it has been getting harder and harder to keep prices low and still be able to pay your bills. And of course there is also the issue that if your prices are too much higher, you may find your customers defecting to another host. What have you done to be able to...

    Currency conversion fee's

While I cannot speak for payment services that I have never used before, most places have a service charge for whenever a currency conversion is used. How badly do these fees get to you, and do you charge clients extra to make up for it?

The dumbest moves that a webhost could make

What do you feel are the dumbest moves that a webhost could make, either to scare away customers, or just lead to them going out of business for a short while? One that quickly comes to mind is under-charging, which is never a good idea for pretty obvious reasons.

Customers referring others to your hosting company

When you have a client who has been very pleased with your service, there is a decent chance that they may tell others about your hosting company, which in turn can lead to more customers. How often have you recieved additional customers this way, and have you ever had a single customer who went...

Dealing with customers who don't know English well

When you have a webhosting company, you may sometimes be contacted by a customer who does not understand English well or whatever your first language may be, which can lead to a lot of misunderstandings, or just general confusion. Some, usually larger companies make use of somebody who can...

More plans or less plans: what do you feel is better?

Some web hosts seem to offer a large variety of different plans or packages, while others tend to stick with only two or three different ones. Which do you prefer personally, and what is your reasoning behind it? As most know by now, I am a fairly no nonsense guy...so I like to keep things...
