Very informative post! It's startling to see large brands ignore tweets from their clients in need of support. It certainly pays to be on your social media game and use these technics.

Good mention of HootSuite too! Well worth the $9/mo., IMHO.

So, how do you feel about automation? You know, scheduling tweets in advance.

Some useful tips mentioned in here and although it's a bit difficult to come up with some quick decisions and conclusions about outcomes that will be generated through using Twitter and possibly other social media projects, but a through a brief glance at most well-known businesses, we notice that traffic building is the main reason why even big businesses are using popular solutions such as Twitter today.

I really do not believe SEO is the matter of discussion over here because even if you keep your Twitter page updated with tons of fresh posts a day, although a lot of visitors might come and see your posts and homepage, but not a lot of links, editorial ones, may be gained in the meanwhile. Custom support through Twitter too seems a bit confusing because you may need to answer tweets that are not necessarily from customers but first-time visitors.

I know this is old, but I figure since someone else bumped it I'd chime in.

I think all levels of being "public" and "accessible" are really important to people when it comes to dealing with a business. Nobody wants to work with a monolith where it seems like there are no humans to get ahold of, regardless of through what medium that message comes across.

If you're on twitter and active people feel like you're "around" and they know there's a person in there that they can work with. That'll always beat a faceless drone.

You know, unless the drone gives you a REALLY good price.

While Socialmedia and its presence is powerful, its has both pros and cons. You can reach a huge number of people in one go with social media. The side effect being a huge number of people can reach you as well . One negative comment on social media, can catch attention of huge masses even though the issue may be very minor or even untrue at times. False social media practices are also prevalent these days. Competitors create fake social media accounts to post negative reviews about each other as well. While social media is very useful, it is certainly a volatile object to be handled with care.

Twitter is one of the best platforms to use for social media, you can get extremely targeted traffic. and most of all its virtually cheap to build your fan base. I think Facebook is second to twitter.

Twitter was never designed to be a social network but it has become one. The following points should be kept in mind.
1.Size matters on Twitter
2.Build a targeted tribe on Twitter
3.Tweet “evergreen” content
4.Include links to liquid and contagious content
5.Tweet multimedia content

Thank you for this information. I've been working on marketing my web hosting but haven't made much progress yet. Google ads aren't working for me even though they are bringing some traffic. And I haven't made any success with Twitter also. I'll have to read this more and re-evaluate what I'm doing. Mostly I'm trying to figure out if what I'm putting on twitter is actually effective. I may not be wording my posts well.

Today brainstorming is the best way of marketing and sales. Different ideas , strategies and planning are best way to achieve any goals. But twitter , Facebook , you tube etc are getting very popular these days.
