It's hard to get clients to a new web hosting company. Some people don't like to sign up with new hosts as they're afraid the host might not make it past 2 years or even 1 year for that matter.

Just keep advertising though and you'll eventually get noticed. You might eventually have to start going the ppc ad route if you really want your business to succeed.

Personally I just went with ppc ads today and am going to see what the results are.

Hopefully I'll get clicks that will convert to clients.

Free advertising is good. But if you want to make money you have to spend money. That's just part of business.

Also I can suggest building your own online community. Link your hosting to a company forum and/or blog and be active in other communities with the same interests.

Activity in the social networking can only do you good - establish yourself in Facebook, Twitter, Google+, even new trendy ones like Pinterest

There is no need to reinvent the wheel actually because the folks who decide to buy hosting products, have either seen some ads about the company, either in AdWords or on a page or when searching Google organically and finding the listings, or the links on some blogs, forums and directories. In the first couple of months, everything might turn out to be so time-consuming and tedious, not generating conversions.

Although you may experience a ton of hits and page views, you still may not be able to persuade customers of an old, world-famous firm to shift to your newly launched web company but don't get disappointed. An egregious mistake would be to target the whole world, burning cash on advertising on terms like "web hosting" which although may generate page views, will not help you sell.

Choosing long-tail keywords right from the beginning is a winning strategy even in the world of SEO. For example, even if you spend tens of thousands of dollars in cash on your SEO, you may not reach the first page of Google for the term "web hosting" but with a fraction of spending and choosing the better term "affordable web hosting in Ohio" you could see many customers within weeks.

Social media is my first priority for advertisement because you can gather lots of friends there and promote your business. Or if your budget is low then you also try e-commerce site, you can advertise you product by giving free add. Now a days many people visit this kind of sites and buy or sell their product.

All the best....

Start local. Offer free stuff to those you know, then new customers can see you have hosting accounts/portfolio. Free to anyone can invite bad guys… At least do $1 promos. Throwing money at the problem is not always the solution. Personalize. Call people. Or how about this:
"If you could have us create something just for you, what would it be?"

"If you were in charge of our company, how would you persuade people like yourself to use us?"
Good luck!
