Facebook

Anyone had much success with Facebook adds? I have noted a few companies recently who seemed to do well especially from the comments of grabbing some new custom.

We had some good success with a local offline business we run.

Over the years I've seen only a small fraction of hosting-related ads on Facebook. That's considering my profile had some very specific keywords related to the industry. There has got to be a reason why that is. I came to the conclusion that running general web hosting ads on Facebook is a waste of money, unless you can come up with very specific campaigns. For example, if you build landing pages for specific cities and aim small business owners in those cities specifically. Or, if you come up with a related product SMBs might need and try to reach out to them.

Facebook ads didn't work well for our clients so I suggest you to not go with it. :)

Well we mainly focus on bringing people over from some known bad brands, I think if we go with it we would focus to their names as keywords to net the unhappy clients with issues.

Hoping to roll out some tests in a week or two.

Even if you make your campaign around a large company, how would you know if you are reaching the people who are/were unhappy with the company?

I can't guarantee it but generally the people who browse their pages are the ones posting unhappy content - It is a big UK company and pretty much everything left is bad.

I cannot guarantee it but it will be a good target to start with I believe - Just have to test really and see.

I've had some success with Facebook in the past, but haven't tried it for website hosting. Just basic article and website promotion, which for $20 ended up driving in about 5,000 visitors to the site.

I see that some hosting companies run Facebook Ads especially on events or when they offer a deal or coupon. This way will gain them a lot of potential leads or event buying customers.

Oh! I see what you are doing. You are targeting an actual page that is dedicated to one company's feedback (mostly negative in particular)? That is an interesting move, would be very curious to see how it performs for sure.

Indeed, I have been using a similar tactic for 2 years however not paid advertising ;) it generally nets some good customers.

But I think paid marketing will work on a larger scale as my other tactic is hit and miss due to how facebook itself works.
