I plan to start my own project very soon and I need a dedi for it. I made a search in the Internet and I have found some companies that suit my needs. They are: siteocity.com and megawebserver.com. Both companies seem good and I don't know which one to choose.
Any advice would be appreciated.

As far as I know siteocity.com doesn't provide any dedicated solutions, they seem to specialize in Linux and reselling plans.

Surely not. Besides reselling, Ahosting.biz also provides shared web hopsting, dedicated servers and domain registration.

Ahosting.biz offers SSL certificate solution. I wonder if somebody uses this service and if it's very important for running web hosting.

SSL certificates are generally only necessary for billing systems or sites that need to protect user data. If you're running a forum or a blog it's not necessary.

I agree, unless the material in the blog is so sensitive that you don't want the users ISP/workplace to see the content as it goes whizzing by on their wires. Thats what SSL is for.

If you have a $100/m budget I might recommend going with a high-end VPS server. Unless you need more space or just want total control over the environment and VPs might suit you better.

100/month isnt bad at all, most I know will do between 100-150/month for something that works just fine for a small start up type. What are you going to be using this for?
