For us, VPS cPanel license is £5 and dedicated cPanel license is £10. But then we charge slightly more for the accounts/servers themselves. It depends on the business model.

With the right web hosting company, your business web site can be much easier than you think. There are so many web based design tools and marketing tools included in web hosting packages, that you really don't need to know much about html, programming, or otherwise.

Reselling is a good way to kick start your new venture.

However, in the long run, I suggest that you move from reselling and actually renting hardware or COLO'ing your own hardware in a close datacenter.

I would advise ignoring the first 2 comments. One simply cant expect to just purchase a dedicated server and call themselves a VPS hoster.

It takes time and effort to learn any virt type inside and out (And i dont just mean getting used to SolusVM or any other CP) i mean getting to grips with it on a strictly command line basis.

Its all to easy to get a VPS online, not so easy to track down somebody abusing your connection or disks.

I prefer VPS Reselling in which i purchase vps as it is from any one of service provider and resell it to customer, this way i donot have headache of hardware and backup related issues, as parent host service provider manage it generally. As well as i prefer to go with a VPS reseller option where RAID-10 and R1Soft backup are been offered as backend hardware platform for good VPS services for end user customers.

I can understand the pros and cons for each. The best solution is to run your own environment as you can build something bespoke and try and provide a unique selling point

The issue is this is not easy and highly available environments which protect your customers and your business are not cheap or easy to setup

What I would say is don't underestimate the costs, if you want to buy a single host then this isn't going to be expensive but you won't have all the features your competitors are going to have.

This isn't to say you still can't sell your product you will just have to have spot on support or other usp

too true, but it happens and then all go onto ebay and try and sell unlimited master reseller plans at $2 a year or 3 years for $5
