EMC buys Archer Technologies

Recovery solutions provider EMC has announced its plan to acquire Archer Technologies. The terms of the sale were not immediately available, but the deal is expected to be complete by April 2010. Archer’s 138 employees will be integrated into EMC’s technology of RSA Security.

Secure-24 opens new data center in Michigan, creates 250 jobs

A new data center was opened for managed hosting services and disaster recovery provider Secure-24. The data center, which was named the Wayne County Technology Resource Center is located in Plymouth Township. An 18,000 square-foot facility will increase the attractiveness of the region and create over 250 jobs.

IBM to provide hosting and disaster recovery to Indian bank

IBM has signed a contract with Kurmanchal Nagar Sahakari Bank of India, in which the company will provide infrastructure hosting and disaster recovery to the financial institution. This news follows the IBM’s announcement that it will design and maintain three data centers in Delhi, Noida, and Mumbai.

A new disaster recovery service for enterprise and dedicated server customers has been launched by MaximumASP. It employs Symantec Recovery Solution which synchronizes and replicates databases and files to a Chicago data center. The service offers protection for critical data against events such as hardware failure, natural disaster, or data corruption.
