An open-source software development company Mozilla has added its second data center location in Phoenix. The new facility will house approximately eighty servers and six racks. The new location was launched to support Mozilla’s DC in San Jose, CA. The company also has satellite locations in Beijing and Amsterdam.
By applying a Virtual Facility simulation method, Cisco has reportedly saved more than $100,000 on its energy bill in its San Jose Campus in 2009. The total bill of the company in its San Jose offices is $1.4 million, $660,000 of which represent the cooling energy cost.
A new data center in Silicon Valley will be opened according to a Data Center Knowledge report. Owned by NTT America, the new San Jose location will be the same size as its Santa Clara DC. This will mark company’s third data center in the Bay area.
