Drift2 acquires Utaria.net, discontinues brand

The Minnesota-based shared hosting provider Utaria.net has been acquired by Drift2 Web Service. As part of the migration process, all existing Utaria.net members will be moved to under the Drift2 brand and data integrated to its primary cluster. Drift2 plans to discontinue the Utaria.net brand once the migration is complete.

Dallas homes a new web hosting company Dedico

A new web hosting company Dedico was launched. Dallas-based firm is made up of a group of internet professionals who, according to the announcement, have a combined experience of over 30 years. The company has their own Cisco Catalyst-based core networking platform and its services include dedicated servers, voice and data telecommunications.

SoftLayer upgrades its network

Texas-based web hosting provider SoftLayer Technologies has announced upgrades to its network, which included enhanced network monitoring tools, free inbound bandwidth, Internap’s Flow Control Platform and a new 10G peering connection with Telefónica. Customers save money with the free inbound bandwidth since 20% of their average total bandwidth is inbound.

GoDaddy gives clients an instant feedback tool

Domain registrer and web hosting provider GoDaddy has announced that it is offering a new entrepreneurial tool “Site Surveys”, designed for businesses to receive instant feedback from their customers. This tool also simplifies the tracking and measuring of customer attitudes. It features real-time reporting and drag-and-drop interface.

Franklin Savings Bank hacked again

For the second time this week, the web page of Franklin Savings Bank was shut down. A malicious code was embedded on its marketing site and the bank was forced to take it offline. The company vowed that it would stay offline until it switched web hosting providers.

Webfusion customers gain access to RatePoint tools
