VeriSign SSL certificates from Rackspace

Web hosting provider Rackspace has extended its line of offering to Secure Sockets Layer certificates. The company can now directly sell, install, and renew SSL certificates from VeriSign. Rackspace is also offering Extended Validation SSL Certificates which help prevent phishing scams. The certificates are available via the customer portal of MyRackspace.com.

InetServices launches second data center in Massachusetts

A second data center has been opened by web hosting provider InetServices in Massachusetts. This expands the company’s total capacity to 6,000 servers. The facility offers more bandwidth connectivity and it is also the first part of company’s virtualization strategy. InetServices is planning to open its third data center by Q3 2010.

iWeb makes staff position changes

A Canadian-based web hosting company iWeb has made some changes to their staff positions. A new position of Chief Technology Officer was introduced and given to former VP of IT and infrastructure Cyrille Mertes.
