Telorean opens $15-million data center in Houston

A 90,000 square foot data center has been opened in Houston, Texas by Telorean, an IT systems firm. It extends the company’s position in terms of providing a resilient infrastructure. The current headquarters of the company is in Seattle, Washington. Hosting, applications, and networking are some of the services of the new $15-million DC.

Data center to power hundreds of homes

Finnish-based IT provider Academia has partnered with Helsingin Energia, one of Helsinki’s district heating network operators, to transform a former bomb shelter beneath a cathedral into a data center – part power plant. Company projects that hundreds of homes will receive the extra heat coming from the DC.
