Teraco’s new data center in South Africa

Teraco has opened a data center in Cape Town, South Africa. It is the first vendor neutral data center in Cape Town and it also the first of its kind in the country. In the past, outsourced data center facilities in South Africa have been supplied by large IT outsourcing companies and ISPs.

Google will turn a paper mill into a data center

Google is in the process of purchasing a paper mill and turning it into a data center in Summa, Hamina, Finland. This is the company’s first announced data center since the recession began. The sale is expected to be complete by the first quarter of this year.

New data center for BAIS

Internet service provider Lumison has announced partnership with a UK managed hosting company NetBenefit. Under new agreement, NetBenefit will use Lumison data center in Croydon, South London. EvoSwitch has reduced the average PUE, Power Usage Effectiveness, of its facilities by 0.2 which is a 20 percent increase in energy saving compared to a traditional data center.
