Eleven2 opens headquarters in Houston

Web hosting provider Eleven2 announced today that it has opened its new corporate headquarters in Houston. Located in a third floor of a six-story multi-tenant office building, the new headquarters will allow the company to double the amount of onsite employees of the company as well as strengthen its staff for customer support department.

Oracle finalizes Sun Microsystems purchase

Oracle has completed the $7.4 billion acquisition of Sun Microsystems. As a result of this deal, close to 2,000 people will be laid off (out of approximately 28,000 working around the world). Most experts believe the deal will provide Oracle with an edge in the information systems market.

EMC buys Archer Technologies

Recovery solutions provider EMC has announced its plan to acquire Archer Technologies. The terms of the sale were not immediately available, but the deal is expected to be complete by April 2010. Archer’s 138 employees will be integrated into EMC’s technology of RSA Security.

GoDaddy expands facility, rewards employees

Domain registrar Go Daddy has expanded their Science & Technology complex at Scottsdale Airpark by 21,000 square foot. The company rewarded top employees with cash prizes and one-year mortgage payments in their “expansion party” which was attended by local government officials and Candice Michelle (the GoDaddy Girl) who signed autographs at the event.
