TWIH: CloudLinux offers fix for unstable hosting environments

Linux-for-hosting operating system developer CloudLinux has issued a white paper detailing the findings of a study the company conducted aimed at learning more about how to balance server load in situations faced by shared hosting firms, offering insight into the issues faced and potential solutions to help providers tackle them.

Most reliable hosting company websites in February 2010

NaviSite was named the most reliable hosting company website in February, according to a Netcraft survey. The company uses Apache on CentOS. DataPipe came in second place, followed by INetU. Six of the top ten sites were running Linux. Two identifiable hosts ran FreeBSD and one ran Microsoft’s Windows Server 2008.
