Managed data center operator Online Tech is shutting down its oldest, smallest, and least efficient data center – the Ann Arbor data center. One of the reasons is that the DC no longer meets the company’s high-end infrastructure standards. All current clients will be moved to a more environmentally friendly data center.

Data Net LTD for failing to pay their accreditation fees. Hosting365 owes ICANN $28,089.20, OOO owes $7,914.56 while R.B. Data Net has to cover $34,952.84 in outstanding debt.

Web hosting provider Rackspace has extended its line of offering to Secure Sockets Layer certificates. The company can now directly sell, install, and renew SSL certificates from VeriSign. Rackspace is also offering Extended Validation SSL Certificates which help prevent phishing scams. The certificates are available via the customer portal of MyRackspace.com.
